Who are we ?

Sabia Consulting has been founded by Jean-Pierre Banâtre, acting as CEO, and Jean-Loic Delhaye, acting as Managing Director.

Jean-Pierre Banâtre received his Ph. D. in Computer Science (1974) and Doctorat d'Etat (1980) from the University of Rennes1. His main research interests concern programming languages, parallel programming, distributed systems and software architectures. He has been involved in a number of research projects on these topics. He has co-authored several books in the field of Software Engineering and he has published about one hundred papers in various journals and conferences. In 1990, he became head of the Inria research unit of Rennes and of IRISA. Then in 1999 he became head of the Inria research unit of Rocquencourt. Then, in 2002, he became  Director of European Partnerships at Inria.

Jean-Pierre Banâtre has been much involved in a EIT Knowledge ans Innovation Community, called EIT ICT Labs. He has been a member of the Board of EIT ICT Labs from 2010 to 2012. He has also been a enthousiastic promoter of the European Research Council (ERC). He has "accompanied" with success a number of researchers in the preparation of their ERC application. 

Jean-Pierre Banâtre is now Professor Emeritus at the University of Rennes 1.

Jean-Loic Delhaye received his Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Paris VI in 1970. He has been in a consulting firm, Eurequip, in Paris during five years, working for the management of various public and private organisms. Then, he made a come back to research and moved to Montpellier, south of France, to manage large computer centers serving universities and research labs. He has been the director of the national computer center (CNUSC) dedicated to the French universities.  In 1983, he was "visiting scientist" in the IBM Research Labs (Yorktown Heights, NY).

Jean-Loic Delhaye moved to Rennes in 1994, to join the University of Rennes 1 and the Inria research unit of Rennes where he has been, until 2010, the manager of the department "Partnerships and technology transfer". He has been involved in the preparation of hundreds of European projects, including several coordinations.
